Myth #1,


TIE YOUR HAIR UP TO MAKE IT GROW FASTER


Truth : Hair growth is rarely affected by external factors.it grows about half an inch a month,but diet and lifestyle can affect its growth.Your hair most probably seems to grow faster when you put it up in a ponytail all the time because you are less aware of its length.the same goes for bangs that are pinned up.


Myth #2,

EXCESSIVE USE OF HAIR PRODUCTS KEADS TO INCREASED HAIR SHEDDING


Truth : Using mousse,gels and serums can leave product buld-up.This causes your hair to appear dry and dull,but does not contribute to hair fall.If you need them to sculpt you tresses,do use a clarifying shampoo and hair moisturising treatment fortnightly.


Myth #3,


SLEEPING WITH WET HAIR CAUSES SCALP FUNGUS


Truth : Sleeping wit a wet scalp will not cause any form of infection or fungal disease.These can only happen if the scalp has come into contact with infected sources.However,sleeping with wet hair will cause more breakage because hair strands are the weakest and most fragile when wet.


Myth #4,


VITAMINS CAN HELP HAIR TO GROW FULLER AND THICKER


Truth : As much as we want this to be true,hair thickness is mainly due to genetics.Vitamins dont do much in term of increasing the amount of hair strands on your scalp or the thickness of each strand.But it doesnt hurt to take a multuvitamin to boost your hair's health


Myth #5,


DANDRUFF IS CAUSED BY DRY SCALP.


Truth : Danddruff is actually caused by overactive oil glands,harsh shampoos and excessive perspiration.Some might avoid washing their hair because they worry that the shampoo is too drying and will cause more dandruff.On the contrary,you should wash your hair more frequently to ensure your scalp is cleansed properly.


Myth #6,


THE LESS YOU WASH YOUR HAIR,THE HEALTHIER YOUR LOCKS 


Truth : Our scalps release natural oils that help to moisture and protect our hair.Unfortunately,these natural oils also can attract dust and dirt which can clog the pores on our scalps,just like our skin.Your scalp and hair can only be healthy when they are clean.It is best to wash your hair at least three times a week for healthy and shinny hair.


Myth #7,


THE LONGER YOU LEAVE CONDITIONER IN YOUR HAIR,THE GREATER THE EFFECT 


Truth : Conditioners are fomulated to protect,coat and seal in moisture within minutes.Leaving them on longer isn't going to provide any additional benifits.Hot oil treatment and deep conditioning,however can be left on longer,as they require more absorption time.


Myth #8,


HAIR PRODUCTS CAN HELP TO FIX SPLIT ENDS 


Truth : Split ends happen when damage hair strands split into two or more.Although some products can hide it,the effect is only temporary.The only way to to deal with them is by cutting off the damaged ends to prevents the splits to going all the way up the hair shaft
